Privacy policy

Last updated: October 25, 2026

PatternSquare turns your photos into patterns inside your own browser. Your photos are never uploaded, stored or seen by anyone else. This page explains that, and the little data the website itself does collect.

Your photos

When you choose or drop a photo, your browser reads it from your device and does all the work there: cropping, resizing, matching colours and building the chart and PDF. No part of the photo or the finished pattern is sent to our servers or to anyone else. When you close the tab, it is gone.

You can check this yourself: open your browser's developer tools, go to the Network tab and make a pattern. No request carries your image.

Preferences stored on your device

We use your browser's local storage to remember a few settings, such as light or dark mode and, where we ask, your choice about analytics cookies. These stay on your device and are never sent to us.

Analytics

We may use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which tools are used, so we know what to improve. It reports totals such as page views, country and device type, and never your photos or patterns.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked first. Until you choose "Allow analytics", Google Analytics runs in Consent Mode and sets no cookies. You can change your choice with "Cookie settings" in the footer.

Advertising

To keep the tools free, we may show ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalised ads in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of other vendors at aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.com.

Server logs

Like every website, our host (Cloudflare) receives standard request details such as IP address, browser type and the page requested. These are used to keep the site running and secure, and are not linked to you.

Your rights

If you live in the EEA, the UK, Switzerland or California, you have the right to access, correct or delete personal data held about you, and to object to its use. We hold no accounts or profiles. If you email us, we keep your message only to reply to it, and will delete it on request.

We do not sell personal information. PatternSquare is for a general audience and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
